Here you can see my failed attempt to make this a nice space. I’m not going to tell you how much wasted grass seed was used on this area but let’s just say my only option was to dig it up and turn it into something else. To the right of the tiki bar under the tree I turned that area into a shade garden which I will share later.
Words cannot express how much I love recycled concrete. For one it puts to use something that would otherwise be thrown away. And two it creates an extremely strong level base for anything you want to do. I wish I knew about this when I was doing my fire pit because the sand (which was once perfectly leveled and I tamped down excessively) is now sagging 3 years later. But recycled concrete is all the strength and minimal effort. You just have to figure out a way to get it home! This 4,000 pounds was about $30.
Like one big heavy puzzle! I got the limestone from a local quarry. I forget how many pounds but they weren’t light weight! I spent about $40 on these!
When you have it all filled in, fill in the spaces with sand or small pebblesParty on!!
