Hey there! My name is Jean! I became a homeowner for three reasons: Dogs, Gardens, and Projects. These three things have consumed my life for the last five years.
Both of my parents were the children of two sets of strong farmers who lived through The Great Depression. And even though both of my parents made plenty of money while I was growing up they still threw nothing away and DIYed and re-purposed everything… even before it was cool. Summers were spent gardening, canning, and working on outdoor projects. The summer of my 7th grade year my mom gave me a wire brush that attached to a drill and had me sand down our entire rusting wire fence that lined the acre around our house. My mother had me, sand, prime, and re-paint it silver. I can’t tell you how many hours I have spent trying to refinish something that should have just been thrown away or replaced. Long tedious projects are in my blood and I have carried on the legacy into my own adulthood. Oh, and I firmly don’t believe in stock-images or posting other people’s projects as your own!
Like many millennials, I have many interests. I balance a full-time job as a Middle School Science Teacher, I rent out a portion of my home on Airbnb, I love to travel, and work on my house. My weekends are filled with dirt, wheelbarrows, weeds, and homemade tacos. Thank you for allowing me to share part of my life with you!
